There are many different types of rodents like, hamster, rat, mouse, chinchilla, squirrels, beaver etc. The most common rodent found in homes are rat and mice. Many people keep mouse as pets also, but if they are unwanted in the house, they can multiply quickly and become a nuisance. A mouse has a pointed snout and a body length scaly tale.

Diseases spread by rodents
Rats can transmit disease to humans through a bite or a scratch and also by leaving their droppings and urine around the house. Rats can spread sickness by contaminating food and food preparation area. The most common diseases transmitted to humans through rats are:- Lymphocytic Choriomeningitis: which is a viral infection transmitted through the urine and saliva of rats.
- Black Plague: is transmitted through fleas that come from rats and bite humans. Fleas from rats also transmit Bubonic plague, Typhus and Hantan virus.
- Salmonellosis: is spread by consuming food or water contaminated by rat fleas.
